Dr. Kelvin Van Voorst
Dr. Kelvin Van Voorst was raised in Northwestern Iowa. He attended Iowa State University for his undergraduate degree in Biology and Pennsylvania College of Optometry for his Doctor of Optometry. His passion is fitting patients with specialty contact lenses and working with patients that have suffered from traumatic brain injury or those that have a history of strabismus and/or amblyopia. Specialty contact lenses are a great option for those patients that have prescriptions that fall outside the range of soft contact lenses due to high astigmatism. This also includes patients that have keratoconus or have had refractive eye surgeries, such as LASIK and PRK. Dr. Kelvin also specializes in Orthokeratology (also known as ortho-K or corneal molding) and myopia control. He is an active member in the Optometric Extension Foundation, College of Optometrists in Visual Development American Optometric Association, American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, Texas Optometric Association, Northeastern Texas Optometric Association and Prosper Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Stacie Van Voorst
Dr. Stacie Van Voorst grew up in upstate New York. She received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Buffalo and her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. Although she performs eye examinations on patients of all ages, Dr. Stacie’s passion is working with children, especially those that struggle in school. With Vision Therapy and glasses, she is able to help both children and adults that suffer from strabismus, amblyopia, visual discomfort and/or difficulty at school. In addition, she works with patients that have suffered from traumatic brain injuries (concussions). She is an active member of the Optometric Extension Foundation, College of Optometrists in Visual Development, American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Northeastern Texas Optometric Association and Prosper Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Stacie is currently preparing for her Fellowship in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
After graduating from optometry school, Dr. Kelvin and Dr. Stacie moved to the Dallas area to be close to friends and family. They fell in love with the area and opened their practice in 2005.
Dr. Stacie and Dr. Kelvin are involved in giving back to the community through various committees. They are also active members in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church here in Prosper. They enjoy spending time with their two children, Ella and Luke.
Referral Liaison/ Lead Optician
Aida is a native of California and has over 15 years’ experience in the optical field. She joined our team in 2010 and brings our office alive with her fun personality. Aida’s goal is to provide a comfortable, yet professional environment. She adds a fresh approach offering a modern selection of designer frames and using the latest in digital technology combined with her high attention to detail. She is experienced in understanding the needs for patients of all ages along with those with special needs. She is also experienced in using prisms, Shaw lens and other therapeutic lenses prescribed by the doctors. Adding to our office’s diversity, Aida is fluent in Spanish.
In her free time, Aida enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 beautiful daughters.
Patient Care Coordinator for Vision Therapy and Specialty Contact Lenses
Erica joined our team in 2011. While her passion is working one-on-one with patients and while you will find her in all areas of the practice, her main focus is coordinating the specialties of the practice. This involves educating patients on GVSS and vision therapy along with coordinating all testing, scheduling and financial needs. Her favorite part of working at PFE is the small office atmosphere, which allows her to move around the office with the patients that need her the most.
Erica is a native Texan, born in Houston. She resides in McKinney with her husband, Chris and their daughters, Brie and Lily. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, dining out and teaching and learning new things with her girls.
Vision Therapy Assistant/ Optometric Technician
Alison has many years of experience in the medical field. She brought her skills to our practice in early 2016 when she became part of our team. Alison guides our patients through preliminary testing, which includes a comprehensive case history, retinal imaging, visual field testing, non-contact tonometry and scanning of the back of the eye with an OCT. She also guides patients through soft contact lens trainings and visual processing testing. Alison also assists the doctors with visual perceptual testing. She enjoys all aspects of her position but her favorite part is in educating her patients on every test that she performs. She loves to expand her knowledge and is available to assist patients in all areas of the practice.
Alison and her family are long term Prosper residents. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs. When not at work, you can find her at the lake on her boat.
Kristen enjoys working one-on-one with her patients, teaching them the skills they need to help them improve their visual efficiency. Seeing them achieve success in many areas, especially school, is the best part of her career! Kristen brings fun to the therapy room and can often be found joking with patients and making them laugh. Kristen resides in McKinney with her husband and their daughter. She enjoys working with young teen and pre-teens outside of the practice with Revelation Wellness and spending time with her friends and family.
Brooke is bright, enthusiastic and hardworking and will go the extra mile for her patients. She has over 8 years’ experience as a gymnastics coach, working with individuals of all ages. She enjoys motivating and encouraging her patients to achieve their goals. Brooke and her husband are originally from Oklahoma and love to travel back on the weekends to tend to their cattle and spend time with family.
Jamie is always smiling and eager to help patients and parents. She is understanding and patient, which is partly from her extensive years of experience in the medial field. She brings these skills to the therapy room and provides a calming yet fun energy. Jamie resides in Prosper with her husband and 2 children.
